Dental implants have proven to have a success rate of more than 95 percent. Obviously, the skills of the periodontist and restorative dentist have a lot to do with that, but before the patient even gets into the dentist’s chair, our doctors have a consultation appointment with each patient to find out their needs and come up with the best plan to address those needs. In order to do so, our doctors utilize the most advanced technology to see exactly what needs to be done.
Digital X Rays
The Forte Dental Implant Center in Plano, Texas, uses the most advanced diagnostic equipment available. In order to maximize the image quality while minimizing the patient’s exposure to radiation, our doctors employ the Kodak RVG 6100 digital x-ray system. Going digital allows instant access to highest resolution intraoral images in the industry and gives the staff the best information to help them create personalized treatment plans.
CAT Scan – Kodak 9500 Cone Beam Scanner
The Forte Dental Implant Center is the first office in Texas to use the Kodak 9500 cone beam scanner. This is the premiere scanner in the world, and it offers superior image quality while exposing the patient to minimal radiation. The 9500 system is a mid-field and large field scanner combined, allowing dual-jaw to full craniofacial imaging to help our doctors and staff accurately diagnose patients.
The 9500 system also maximizes the patient’s comfort by featuring Kodak’s trademark open design with face-to-face position to help ease even the most anxious patient’s nerves. Our doctors use the three-dimensional CAT scan along with SimPlant and NobelGuide planning software to accurately plan your surgery. This imaging technology gives the staff the best information to address each patient’s unique needs.
In the above CAT scan image, the blue image is the proposed dental implant site, which was chosen based on the available bone, seen as the white area near the implant marker. This imaging system allows our doctors and staff to find the best bone sites to achieve more predictable dental implant placement. It is an invaluable tool in planning, and the better the plan, the better the result.
